FAQ's

Question: What is Feast with Henry Herbert? It’s an intimate, candlelit supper club hosted in our small bakery in Nailsworth. Every 6 weeks, we transform the space and serve a seasonal 6-course menu, often accompanied by flowers, warm chatter, and the occasional espresso martini.

Question: How often do you run the feasts? Roughly every six weeks—just enough time to gather inspiration, let the seasons shift, and recover from the last one. Upcoming dates are always listed on the website and newsletter subscribers get the early nod.

Question: How do I book a place? Click on the “Book Tickets” link next to your preferred date. If you’re a spreadsheet sort of person, feel free to pencil in future feast dates too—we usually release tickets closer to the time.

Question: What’s on the menu? Menus are seasonal and never the same twice. They’re shaped by what’s good, what’s growing, and what keeps Henry awake at night (in a good way). We often post the latest menu on the site and in our newsletter.

Question: Can you cater for dietary requirements? Absolutely. We just ask that you let us know in advance so we can create something equally delicious that fits your needs. We aim for substitutions that stay as close to the spirit of the main menu as possible.

Question: Do you serve drinks? Yes, though our drinks list is deliberately small, we collaborate with a brilliant local wine merchant for paired wines. And there’s always a welcome cocktail to kick things off. We always have a non-alcoholic beer available.

Question: Is it suitable for vegetarians/vegans? We can certainly accommodate vegetarians with a bit of notice. Vegan menus are more challenging given the structure of our feasts, but we’re happy to discuss options—just email us before booking.

Question: Can I come alone? Of course! Many guests come solo and end up having the best chats. It’s a warm, welcoming environment and Jess’s table flowers are usually excellent conversation starters.

Question: Where is it held? All feasts are hosted at Hobbs House Bakery, 4 George Street, Nailsworth, GL6 0AG—our beloved little corner of Gloucestershire.

Question: What’s the vibe? Think candlelight, beautifully set tables, six indulgent courses, a sprinkling of chaos in the kitchen, and a very human approach to hosting. People often say it feels like a magical dinner party they wish they could recreate at home.

Question: Do you accept Bitcoin? Yes! We do indeed—part of our journey into the world of decentralised deliciousness. If you're curious, there's more about this in the blog.

Question: Is this the same Henry Herbert from the tailoring company? Definitely not. There’s another Henry Herbert who makes suits. We make feasts. No measuring tape required.

Question: What time does the evening start? Doors open precisely at 7.30pm. Not 7.25. Not 7.29. We aim to serve the first course by 7.45pm and the evening wraps up around 10.30pm. By 11.30pm, it’s lights off and everyone’s politely swept out the door (we love you, but we also love sleep).

Question: What’s your cancellation policy? Cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance for a full refund. We’re a small operation and each seat is precious, so we appreciate as much notice as possible. Less than 7 days, sadly, means we can’t refund you—though you’re very welcome to gift your seat to a friend.

Question: Where can I stay overnight? If you’re making a proper evening of it (wise choice), check out Egypt Mill in Nailsworth. It’s charming, comfy, and only a short stumble from the feast.

Question: Do you host private feasts? Absolutely. If you’ve got a birthday, celebration, work do, or just fancy gathering your favourite 28–32 people, we can book out the whole space. It’s £60 per head, and we’re happy to tailor the menu and drinks to suit your tastes. Email us to start the conversation.
