Feast + Bitcoin: A Side Dish of Curiosity

Let me start with a reassurance: our classic feasts, the six-course candlelit evenings filled with laughter, flowers, and borderline ridiculous amounts of prep, aren’t going anywhere. They are still very much the main event. But every now and then, I like to throw in something a little different. Something that scratches a personal itch. And that’s where the Feast+Bitcoin evenings come in.

No, we haven’t been taken over by techno bros. And no, you don’t need to own a single satoshi to come along (although if you do, we now accept Bitcoin payments, more on that another time). These evenings are still feasts, first and foremost. Think the usual suspects: cracking food, warm lighting, Jess’s magical flower arrangements, and the kind of conversation that can veer from “what’s in this sauce?” to “what even is money, really?”

So why Bitcoin? Well, it’s something I’ve personally become fascinated by. Not just the headlines and hype, but the deeper questions it raises. Questions about trust, value, decentralisation, and how we build systems that serve us better. (Plus, as someone who’s had to iron more napkins than I care to count, I appreciate a good system.)

These Feast + Bitcoin nights are my way of exploring that curiosity out loud, bringing people together to eat well, yes, but also to share ideas and leave just a little bit more invigorated than they arrived.

They’re not a replacement for our usual feasts. Think of them as an occasional guest appearance by a topic I’m passionate about. We still serve six seasonal courses. We still obsess over the menu. We just also welcome someone along who can talk passionately and accessibly about some aspect of the Bitcoin ecosystem, whether it’s digital privacy, sound money, or coffee growers in Central America getting paid fairly thanks to this tech.

The goal? Keep it warm, welcoming, and thought-provoking. Not preachy. Not techy. Just… interesting. Like a good dinner conversation should be.

If you’re curious, about food, ideas, or just fancy something a little different, come along. Bring an open mind, an empty stomach, and we’ll do the rest.

And don’t worry. I’ll still be behind the stove. Probably covered in flour. Probably late. Definitely excited.
