Schools (and Feast) out for summer......

Hello,

So the summer hols have come and the beautiful weather is still here. Feels like a proper summer of my childhood. If only I wasn't spending the majority of it behind my desk.

There are no more feasts until the kids go back. This in some ways is a bit sad, but as always when we take a pause from the normal it gives us an opportunity to reflect. I am a bit like an old PC running Windows 95, a bit slow perhaps, so for me to reflect and think I do well with some good long drives with just my thoughts whirling around to ponder what the future looks like. Luckily for me I have two weeks of camping in France with plenty of miles to cover. We have a few adventures planned (including, I hope, a day and evening in San Sebastián to pick our way through as much pintxos as possible), I shall report back on our return.

For now, I hope you all have a wonderful summer and you get to enjoy a few days off.

Our next feast is in September. I am fairly hopeful that some of the ingredients will come from my own garden, which is looking rather lovely and growing very well. I have a glut of tomatoes that should be perfect by September, and my squash is starting to bulge and, if last year's are anything to go by, totally delicious.

I hope to see some of you there.
